Luke 2:46-51

 46 And it came to pass, that after three days they found him in the temple, sitting in the midst of the doctors, both hearing them, and asking them questions.

 47 And all that heard him were astonished at his understanding and answers.

 48 And when they saw him, they were amazed: and his mother said unto him, Son, why hast thou thus dealt with us? behold, thy father and I have sought thee sorrowing.

 49 And he said unto them, How is it that ye sought me?wist ye not that I must be about my Father’s business?

 50 And they understood not the saying which he spake unto them.

 51 And he went down with them, and came to Nazareth, and was subject unto them: but his mother kept all these sayings in her heart.

He wasn’t in the holy place or in the holy of holies. He was within the temple grounds

Christ asking the questions or doctors? It was the doctors

He’s the ones who gave the scripture. Perhaps he was recalling them.

Verse 48: mary says father

Verse 49: He WAS doing his father’s business. He is putting his mother in his place (in a kind way), by clarifying

He knew who he was.

Let us not say that there was unkind rebuke or…  reproof in the answer

16 And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and, lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him:

17 And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my belovedSon, in whom I am well pleased.

John 1:29-32

John the Revelator is writing this (one of the apostles). He was a disciple of John the baptist

Some scholars claim between 28-29 is when he’s baptized. Then the next day

Verse 31-34

 31 And I knew him not: but that he should be made manifest to Israel, therefore am I come baptizing with water.

 32 And John bare record, saying, I saw the Spirit descending from heaven like a dove, and it abode upon him.

 33 And I knew him not: but he that sent me to baptize with water, the same said unto me, Upon whom thou shalt see the Spirit descending, and remaining on him, the same is he which baptizeth with the Holy Ghost.

 34 And I saw, and bare record that this is the Son of God.

 35 ¶Again the next day after John stood, and two of his disciples;

 36 And looking upon Jesus as he walked, he saith, Behold the Lamb of God!

JST deletes the ‘not’ in verses 31 and 33

2nd time seen Holy Ghost= John

There might have been a dove, but he actually saw the Holy Ghost

How does this apply?

The only we can know Jesus Christ is through the spirit

Matthew 3:15

Reason= to fulfill all righteousness

What does that mean?

2 Nephi 31:5-9

 5 And now, if the Lamb of God, he being holy, should have need to be baptized by water, to fulfil all righteousness, O then, how much more need have we, being unholy, to be baptized, yea, even by water!

 6 And now, I would ask of you, my beloved brethren, wherein the Lamb of God did fulfil all righteousness in being baptized by water?

 7 Know ye not that he was holy? But notwithstanding he being holy, he showeth unto the children of men that, according to the flesh he humbleth himself before the Father, and witnesseth unto the Father that he would be obedient unto him in keeping his commandments.

 8 Wherefore, after he was baptized with water the Holy Ghost descended upon him in the form of a dove.

 9 And again, it showeth unto the children of men the straitness of the path, and the narrowness of the gate, by which they should enter, he having set the example before them.

2:31: 19-20

 19 And now, my beloved brethren, after ye have gotten into this strait and narrow path, I would ask if all is done? Behold, I say unto you, Nay; for ye have not come thus far save it were by the word of Christ with unshaken faith in him, relying wholly upon the merits of him who is mighty to save.

 20 Wherefore, ye must press forward with a steadfastnessin Christ, having a perfect brightness of hope, and a loveof God and of all men. Wherefore, if ye shall press forward, feasting upon the word of Christ, and endure to the end, behold, thus saith the Father: Ye shall have eternal life.

Press forward is NOT stationary. Always trying to do better

Unshaken faith

Feasting. If we feasted like Thanksgiving, we would never feel spiritual hunger. But many of us starve ourselves for periods of time.

By choosing to be in HIS kingdom, we separate- not isolate
